So how many people looked at the site?

I’m happy to say that yesterday’s launch of Toronto VFX Jobs exceeded my expectations.  I really had no idea how many people would be interested.  When we run the Toronto Nuke User Group, we usually get around 60 to 80 people.  When I used the Nuke User Group mailing list to help promote Spin’s Compositor Night, 140 people actually opened the email, 55% of the people actually on the mailing list.

The other factor that complicates things is that I have two sets of analytics that are telling me different things.  This site is built on Squarespace, which has it’s own set of built in stats and I also incorporated Google’s analytics as well.

According to Squarespace, I had 340 unique visitors and 1,075 page views on the first day.

According to Google, I had 210 users with 1,592 page views.

I have no idea which one is right, or if ANY of these are right.

Regardless if Squarespace or if Google is correct I don’t really care, the low end of the stats blows away what I thought the visitors to the site would be.  I’m very happy with how things have started and hopefully this leads to more employed artists and studios with the people they need.

Thanks to everyone who shared or liked my posts on Facebook and LinkedIn.  Without that the numbers would be far lower.
